SIEMENS VERIFICATION ACADEMY INTRODUCTION TO ISO 26262

It is no surprise that EV, ADAS, and AV applications are driving new levels of complexity in the planning, development, and deployment of automotive systems. The amount of silicon in these systems continues to increase, and semiconductor companies face the challenge of delivering the rich feature sets required during development to achieve full autonomy.

Beyond advanced features, companies must demonstrate functional safety achievements. ISO 26262 remains the modern safety standard guiding project teams on the activities and work products required to demonstrate that an electronic device is adequately protected against random faults and systematic failures.

Based on conversations with customers, many silicon companies are still seeking their footing to define solutions and methodologies that deliver safety with minimal impact on cost and development schedules.

Siemens EDA has created an educational course on Verification Academy to guide project teams through the key challenges of the ISO 26262 lifecycle. The course aims to help engineers and technical managers understand common difficulties and identify solutions and methodologies that enable maximum efficiency throughout the lifecycle.

• The importance of accurate early-cycle safety analysis
• Defining and implementing optimal safety architectures
• Optimizing and executing a fault campaign
