SMART MACHINE KIT SOLUTIONS IN NX CAM FOR CNC PROGRAMMING

Smart Machine Kit Solutions (SMKS) is a production-ready machine tool solution with post-processors that can integrate with NX CAM, stored in the cloud and easily accessible. SMKS is often considered the digital twin of a CNC machine tool. Each SMKS includes an accurate model aligned with kinematics, post-processor, and G-code simulation, allowing you to generate NC programs for various production-ready CNC machines.

How to Access Smart Machine Kit Solutions in NX CAM

Smart Machine Kit Solutions are available on Post Hub, NX CAM’s cloud-based post-processing platform. Post Hub enables process improvements to generate production-ready CNC programs for your applications.

The cloud-based extended post-processing solution allows you to program a wide range of milling, turning, and multi-function machines. The library includes over 1,200 tool kits and post-processors for different machine tools, from DMG MORI to Haas and Makino.

Each SMKS comes with specifications for reviewing the post-processor before installation. Additional information includes overview documentation with product name, manufacturing technology, number of axes, units, manufacturer, machine series, price, kinematic configuration, licensing, production date, supported NX CAM version, and product description.

Launching Post Hub

To launch Post Hub, click the Post Process command and locate the Post Hub section in the NX CAM dialog. You can also access the Post Hub online library via browser: https://posthub.sws.siemens.com/

Currently, you can purchase Smart Machine Kit Solutions licenses for different machining operations (such as 2.5-axis turning and 3-axis milling), allowing you to install available toolkits from Post Hub. For example, a 2.5-axis milling SMKS license lets you directly download and install any 2.5-axis milling SMKS for various machines from NX CAM. In this case, you can install an unlimited number of 2.5-axis milling SMKS from Post Hub.

As an additional benefit, you can also try installing any SMKS for a single operation without a license. With the new SMKS approach, NX CAM users gain flexibility to program a wide variety of CNC machine tools easily.
