SDE – Siemens Working Session with Quy Nhon University

ICT – On the morning of January 6, Associate Professor Dr. Đỗ Ngọc Mỹ, Rector of Quy Nhon University, along with heads of departments in Automotive Engineering, Technology Engineering, and Information Technology, welcomed and held a working session with the leadership of SDE TECH – Siemens Vietnam; Associate Professor Dr. Phạm Xuân Mai, Advisor to Thaco Group Joint Stock Company, and Dr. Nguyễn Văn Đông from Da Nang University of Technology regarding the Digital Engineering Laboratory Project.

Associate Professor Dr. Đỗ Ngọc Mỹ highly appreciated the interest shown by experts and businesses in supporting the University in establishing a Digital Research & Development (R&D) Laboratory for engineering disciplines in Automotive Engineering and Electrical – Electronics Engineering.

The Rector stated that, based on local recruitment needs, the University’s potential, and its current resources, investing in infrastructure and launching a Bachelor’s program in Automotive Engineering is essential. This initiative aims to provide a high-quality workforce for the South Central Coast – Central Highlands region and the country as a whole, thereby fulfilling the vision and mission of Quy Nhon University.

Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that the Digital R&D Laboratory for engineering disciplines will not only support student training at the University but also facilitate industry-linked training, technical exchange with domestic and international partners, and enhance the University’s educational reputation.

Representatives from SDE TECH – Siemens Vietnam presented an overview of establishing a digital R&D laboratory for engineering disciplines, specifically in automotive engineering and electrical-electronics engineering. They proposed implementation plans for the digital laboratory and IT-based software solutions for the University.

Based on this, department heads and subject leaders in related fields engaged in discussions with the experts, while also receiving feedback on the curriculum structure and duration, infrastructure requirements, and resources needed for training in the Automotive Engineering program.

Under the theme of promoting digital transformation and comprehensive innovation at Quy Nhon University in 2022, Associate Professor Dr. Đỗ Ngọc Mỹ approved the initiative to establish a digital R&D laboratory for engineering disciplines to support training, scientific research, and international cooperation at the University. The Rector expressed a positive view on the long-term collaboration between Quy Nhon University, SDE TECH – Siemens Vietnam, and Thaco Group Joint Stock Company.

At the conclusion of the working session, all parties agreed to continue engagement for more in-depth discussions on related matters, aiming toward signing a memorandum of understanding between SDE TECH – Siemens Vietnam and the University. On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Phạm Xuân Mai also expressed his pleasure in working with the University in the field of automotive engineering, emphasizing that this collaboration represents an opportunity to promote social development and wishing the partnership great success.
